Analysis of Current State of Language Abilities

This diploma thesis defines the required language level for alumni of the Faculty of Business and Management, Brno University of Technology from perspective of labour market and job opportunities. The thesis analyzes variable foreign languages and their required level for graduates in professional life. Even more the thesis analyzes opportunities for personal development in the field of learning languages. It specifies the languages from a professional point of view and thanks to the theoretical and analytical knowledge provides suggestions and solutions for further personal development of future graduates.
Learning styles and their effectivness amongst pupils with specific learning disabilities

This diploma thesis deals with learning styles and their effectiveness amongst pupils with specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part describes the problems of specific learning disorders, the current legislation and the possibilities of care for pupils with specific learning disabilities in school counseling facility, learning styles, learning habits amongst pupils with specific learning disorders and basic diagnostics of learning styles. The practical part is focused on the research and includes quantitative research which focuses on revealing the predominant style of learning at the second level of elementary school amongst pupils with learning disabilities and its comparison with the regular population of pupils. The thesis also answers a range of questions, such as, what helps learners who have learning disabilities to make the most out of their work, what disturbs the learners during learning, and compares these findings with pupils without any learning disabilities. The results of the survey revealed that pupils with specific learning disabilities involved in the research are predominant in the auditory style of learning. There were no differences found between predominant learning styles in pupils with learning disabilities and pupils without these disorders.

Marek Pok Dissertation Abstract Application of memory techniques to primary school instruction The theoretical part is focused on effective teaching methods to primary school instruction. There have been chosen styles, methods and strategies, which are suitable for using memory techniques. Attention is paid to the memory function of students (secondary school age), who become a part of the empirical research. The theoretical part will present the concept of teaching, learning styles, methods and strategies, which effective implement the memory techniques into this construction. The practical part brings using experimental and observational research process to define quantitative and qualitative results on the memory learning. The object of this research is the very process of education, which aims to consolidate memory techniques to effective learning skills. Group and Cooperative Teaching on the First degree of the Elementary School

Main scope of the present diploma thesis is co-operative and group teaching with the emphasis on teaching in the elementary schools. The theoretical part offers an overview of the organizational forms of teaching, defines the concepts of group and co-operative teaching, and presents the basic insight into group and co-operative teaching. The practical part is an action reasearch. The main objective of this part is to verify efficiency of the theoretical procedures and methods of group and co-operative teaching when self-prepared or adopted materials are used in practice. This part also provides a didactical material verified in practice. Furthermore, it concentrates on advantages and disadvantages of co-operative teaching, observes the progress of groups of pupils and that of individual pupils, differences in thinking during co-operative and frontal teaching, relation between co-operative, problematic and explorational approach to teaching.
